Regret the choice

We tried to smile all the time
Tried to hide these feeling
That both of us had

The feeling of sadness
Because we thought
We would never get each other

And this was the true
For we were cowards
Running away and not grabbing what was in front of us

So the time we might have spent together
Was never done
And we where sad sad people

And now we have lived on
Never told one another
And never knew

For we are cowards
Hiding in fear
Fear for the truth we might hear

And as the year went past
We eventually forgot
The love we had felt and hidden

And now so many years later
We found out
What the other felt and we regretted it

For we could have been together all this time
If it was not for the cowardice
We had felt

And now it was too late
Too late to regret
Too late to swear

Too late for anything
Except but to accept it
The future we did not choose
